"We will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime...
for a good cause."

Since FDNY Bravest Boxing's inception in 1982, the team has kept close to their motto: stepping into the ring to serve others. Often pitted against rivals in law enforcement - both local and international - the sanctioned bouts have raised money to sold out crowds for numerous charities. These active firefighters participate in amateur matches where all proceeds from ticket sales are donated. Some who enter the squared circle for the first time become enthralled with the sweet science and have carried their careers beyond the FDNY's events. A handful of these amateurs compete for championship belts and under prestigious amateur promotions like The Golden Gloves - all on their own time, and their own dime.
